Why?

Project Ready, Set, Read aims to increase literacy and access to education for children in underserved communities. However, above all else, Project Ready, Set, Read aims to inspire a transformative love of reading in children.

What is a Project Ready, Set, Read chapter ?

A Project Ready, Set, Read chapter is one other than our main Newport Beach chapter. Project Ready, Set, Read chapters are dedicated to the same overall goal and operate both domestically and internationally. Chapters may work with a specific community, school, or organization.

About Jasmine’s chapter

In my chapter, I would like to help non-English speaking children learn how to read in English. I will work with Arabic-speaking children and create bilingual curriculum. Additionally, I will work with children both domestically and internationally.

About Hyla’s chapter

Through joining Project Ready Set Read, I hope to enhance the reading and writing skills of children in my city. In my chapter, I plan on preparing exciting activities that engage the students and cover the curriculum at the same time. By asking the children what types of activities they would prefer, I will be able to cater to the needs and wants of the children. This ensures that our monthly meetings are enjoyable for all the children!
